News 02 Jun 2023

BakerHicks have been named on the prestigious Architect’s Journal AJ100 list for 2023, demonstrating their strength as an architectural practice.

Highlights .

  • Named in list of largest UK architectural practices and nominated for New Member of the Year Award
  • Demonstrating architectural capability
  • Recognition of quality of work on notable projects

The AJ100 is the definitive record of the UK’s largest architectural practices, with the foremost practices in the country all on the list. Based on the number of architects employed in the UK, it shows which are amongst the top practices in the country to work for, providing a reference point for a company’s architectural capability.

Alongside being listed, BakerHicks were also shortlisted in the New Member of the Year Award. This is judged on both business success and quality of work, with the company’s work on notable projects such as Whitechapel Station and the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC) in Renfrewshire, Scotland, being highlighted.

One of BakerHicks’ clients, the Scottish Prison Service (SPS), were also shortlisted in the Client of the Year Award for their forward thinking in custodial design on projects such as HMP Highland, on which BakerHicks provided architectural and multi-disciplinary design from concept stage.

Director of Architecture, Richard Parker, commented:

Architect’s Journal are one of the leading publications in the industry and to be named in their AJ100 list of practices and shortlisted for the New Member of the Year Award is an achievement worth celebrating. We have a growing team of very high calibre architects who are delivering some impressive and very complex projects across multiple sectors, and it is fitting that their work is recognised in this way.

The results of the Awards and full AJ100 rankings will be announced in June 2023.
