As engineers, designers, and delivery teams, we recognise our impact on creating sustainable buildings and infrastructure. Working with clients in a rapidly evolving industry, we’re challenging the status quo and delivering practical, affordable strategies to decarbonise our environment – today and for the future.
Ensuring a whole life carbon approach on every project.
At BakerHicks, sustainability means designing and delivering projects that minimise environmental impact, while creating long-term value for our clients and communities. It’s embedded into our design ethos from the outset, influencing decisions for measurable, lasting outcomes.
Our teams focus on reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, and promoting social value across everything we do. We take a whole-life approach to cost and performance, ensuring sustainability measures deliver tangible benefits without compromising affordability or functionality. Using tools like CarboniCa, we identify carbon hotspots early and work together to embed low-carbon materials, energy-efficient systems, and circular economy principles - optimising both environmental and financial performance.
Aligned with globally recognised frameworks such as BREEAM, WELL, Passivhaus, and DREAM, our approach follows guidance from RIBA, LETI, UKGBC and The Carbon Reduction Code for net zero design. We’re also PAS 2080 and EcoVadis accredited.
