BakerHicks’ Warwick office festive fundraising smashes targets for local hospice .

News 20 Dec 2018

BakerHicks’ Warwick HQ office got into the festive spirit on Tuesday 18 December with various Christmas themed fundraising activities in aid of The Myton Hospices, bringing their annual funds raised total to £2,400, more than double their annual target.

Highlights .

  • Christmas themed fundraising activities
  • Supporting hospice care for local patients and families

The company have been raising funds for Myton throughout the year, primarily through their tuck shop stocking snacks and drinks, raising a total of £1,800. Throughout December a number of additional, festive themed activities have taken place, including a raffle, Christmas jumper day and festive feast with a range of Christmas foods on offer for staff to purchase. This added an impressive £600 to the total funds raised for the hospices.

The donation will go towards helping run The Myton Hospices, who are a Midlands based not-for-profit organisation providing care and support or patients and their families through their three hospices and in the community through their Myton at Home operation. In 2017 the Hospices supported more than 1,400 people and their families, they need to raise £9.6 million a year to continue to provide care and this comes from donations like the one made by BakerHicks.

We’re incredibly proud to be able to support such a fantastic organisation that really does make a huge difference to the local community. They’ve touched the lives of a number of our staff and it’s great to be able to contribute towards helping them continue to provide such a brilliant level of care.

I’m overwhelmed by the generosity of our staff; the amount they have raised over the course of the year is just incredible and will make a huge difference to the lives of the families the Hospices care for.

The money raised by the BakerHicks staff could for example run the Myton Day Hospice in Rugby for two days, fund five inpatient beds for a day or buy a specific patient recliner chair to enable them to spend time out of bed.

We’d like to thank everyone at BakerHicks, we’re so grateful for their support and generosity throughout 2018. Relationships like this are vital to Myton, enabling us to continue to provide care and support to our patients and their families. We’re looking forward to another successful year of fundraising together in 2019.
