Delivering safe construction, operation and decommissioning
Working in a nuclear environment demands exceptional levels of safety and experience. BakerHicks’ nuclear team has a long track record that is recognised in the industry, trusted to safely deliver projects in highly secure, regulated environments through a genuinely integrated service.
We’ve worked with power and defence clients on some the largest nuclear licensed sites in the UK, designing large scale process and treatment facilities for the safe handling of legacy nuclear materials.
From feasibility and design studies to concept and scheme design, our teams provide the full range of multidisciplinary design services including process engineering, architecture, building services, civil and structural and project management.
“The team has demonstrated technical expertise and will support us in adapting and responding to the changing demands of the nuclear industry, helping us to ensure the work carried out is done in a responsible manner…”
David Slater, Managing Director of CNS
Our extensive understanding of industry requirements and risks sees us supporting clients at all stages in a project’s development; from masterplanning and integration through to containment, deconversion and decommissioning.
Recent projects include the core process reference design for the Legacy Cylinder Facility at Capenhurst Nuclear Services (CNS), where we created the blueprint for the equipment and processes to transfer materials, safely sampling, categorising and filtering throughout.
