From lifesaving life sciences facilities to major infrastructure projects, and essential education, healthcare and custodial buildings, our work makes a real difference to our communities. At BakerHicks, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and diversify your experience. All within a talented and inclusive team, willing to help you fulfil your potential.
As an engineer, no day is ever the same. Whether you’re doing calculations, drawings or preparing documents, each time you do it, it’s on a different project with a completely different building. You need a keen eye for detail, great communication skills and a passion for solving problems. It’s a great feeling to deliver projects on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
Our engineers are expert problem solvers with all the skills to visualise the best outcomes, connecting a client-first philosophy with pioneering, sustainable design. We're skilled at working across the disciplines. We nurture all our talent, from graduate engineers through to chartership. And we have decades of in-house expertise in designing forward-thinking life sciences, infrastructure, public and government projects for a healthier, safer world.
I think it’s so important to arm young people with the knowledge of the career options that are out there and how they can get into them. It’s particularly important for us to show girls that engineering and other STEM subject based careers are something they can get involved in.
Giving them the opportunity to meet women who have been on the journey themselves and can talk about their experiences is vital. It hopefully gives them role models that are relatable, and if it sparks an interest in engineering in a few then we’re making one more step towards a more diverse industry.
