BakerHicks announces new national charity for 2018

BakerHicks, the multidisciplinary design and engineering company, is proud to announce its involvement with Kidney Cancer UK throughout 2018 as its national charity.

This follows the work of BakerHicks’ Managing Director of Nuclear and Defence, John Griffin, as one of the charity’s patient representatives.

Kidney Cancer UK is the UK’s leading specialist kidney cancer charity, helping to reduce the harm caused by the disease through knowledge and awareness. They provide patient information and support research into the causes, prevention and treatment of kidney cancer.

A kidney cancer survivor himself, John is actively involved in Kidney Cancer UK’s awareness programme. He acts as a patient representative at a number of events, including speaking at conferences and at the House of Lords President’s Dinner. By sharing his own story and personal experiences John helps raise awareness of the disease and supports others going through the same thing.

John says:

“It’s an emotionally tough experience talking about my own cancer story, but its hugely rewarding. I’m delighted that BakerHicks have chosen to support a charity that is so close to my heart, Kidney Cancer UK does fantastic work promoting awareness and supporting patients through what is a challenging journey. I know that the funds raised will be used to help make a real difference and I look forward to continuing to work closely with the charity.”
