BakerHicks have been appointed to the new London Gatwick Design Services Framework to support the airport’s Capital Investment Programme to enhance capacity, resilience and the passenger experience as the airport continues to grow.

The new framework includes 16 specialist design consultants, comprising local and regional businesses, to deliver a series of projects. These include retail reconfigurations, taxiway rehabilitations, surface access and forecourt management, property upgrades and automated baggage handling. All of the projects are centred on further improving operational efficiency, modernising infrastructure and strengthening resilience across the airport.

More about London Gatwick Design Services Framework

BakerHicks have been appointed to Lot 1A (of five) for large multi-disciplinary consultants, along with five other consultants, and will support London Gatwick with a broad range of technical services and specialisms.

Richard Brady, Director for Aviation at BakerHicks, says:

As a long-standing and trusted partner to London Gatwick, we are delighted to support the delivery of their London Gatwick Capital Investment Programme and help them achieve their vision of being the airport for everyone.

Our multi-disciplinary teams have an established track record in airport infrastructure projects, and have the experience and expertise needed to deliver upgrades that will future proof the airport and deliver the ultimate passenger experience.

A sustainable airport infrastructure project

Safety, security and environmental standards are at the heart of the London Gatwick Design Services Framework and support the airport’s sustainability programme, Decade of Change. The framework will support the airport's goal for a minimum of 10% of London Gatwick’s total spend to be with local suppliers and a minimum of 25% total spend with regional suppliers. Suppliers are also required to showcase their commitment to Gatwick’s sustainability goals, by driving lower carbon design solutions across the pipeline of projects, supported by quarterly sustainability forums to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
